Official Guild Guidelines- Please Read!
As a member of the Aegis Order Guild and Forum, you indicate that you have read, understood and agree to abide by the following:
General Rules
Making in-game comments, forum posts, or private messages which are disrespectful, defamatory, baiting, harassing, offensive, insulting, or otherwise improper manner, toward a member or other individual, including casting of suspicion upon a person, humiliation, invasion of privacy, demeaning criticism, name-calling, personal attacks, or any behaviour/post which violates the law, will NOT be tolerated. Please do not hesitate to contact Admin via PM or Email if you feel you are being harassed.
Posting unconstructive criticism regarding the Aegis Order Guidelines, Administration or Guild Management practices will result in the immediate removal of said post or thread, and an official warning placed against you. We do however welcome genuine questions and concerns, constructive criticism and positive comments via the forum PM or email system.
Discussion regarding illegal activities of any kind, images or links of/to pornographic images, racial propaganda, or any other topic that would be considered offensive will result in the immediate removal of the post or thread and an official warning will be placed against you. In extreme cases, an immediate ban will be given at the discretion of Admin.
Posting or discussing the content of Private Messages, email or the in-game message system without express permission from your correspondent is a serious offense and may result in an immediate ban. This will be discussed between Admin and the member/s involved.
Posting
When creating new thread topics, please remember to use a clear and descriptive title. Thread titles such as ‘Is anyone interested?’ for an instance invitation gives no clue to what your thread is about. To keep our forums easy and quick to browse for our members, be specific. ‘Blackfathom Deeps Run- 8pm 20/09/08’ is an example of an appropriate title.
Unnecessary spam such as post flooding, advertising, or the bumping of irrelevant threads is discouraged and an official warning may be placed against you at the discretion of Admin.
While we appreciate the natural flow of conversation and discussion, we encourage you to remain on topic when replying to threads. If you would like to continue to discuss something that would be considered off-topic, we encourage you to start a new thread. Established threads that veer too much off topic may be split or closed at the discretion of Admin and Moderators. This ensures our forums are quick and easy to browse.
We encourage members to be considerate of each other when posting. Continuous use of CAPS when posting is considered yelling and is irritating/offensive to read. Avoid l337 sp43k. We encourage you to check spelling and grammar if possible before posting. Many of our members are on timed sessions and will not bother reading your contributions if they make no sense.
Warning and Bannings
Punishment for breach of rules may involve consequences either in on the forum, in game or both at the discretion of Administration and Masters of the Guild.
The Administration of the Aegis Order do not enjoy handing out punishments to people. Warnings are designed to remind you of our Guild Guidelines, and if you wish to continue to be a member of our Guild, any inappropriate behaviour must cease. These warnings are not a personal attack from the Admin or Moderators, but a firm reminder to play nice. None are exempt and all members who breach these guidelines will be treated equally.
Any warnings placed on you may be reduced at Administrator's discretion and are generally based on positive contributions to the forum/guild community.
Should you accrue 3 warnings you will have your posting rights removed and your in-game rank demoted temporarily to “Probation” until the situation is discussed by Admin.
All characters under your account will receive the Probation rank and will be treated in the same fashion even if one or more are outside the guild itself.
It IS possible to acquire more than 1 warning at a time in a serious situation such as repeated spamming despite prior warning or a direct attack against another member or Administrator.
If you have been banned from posting, what happens next is largely dependant on the reason for the ban and your own conduct. All bans are reviewed and discussed by the full complement of Aegis Order's Administrators/Moderators.
Unless the banning is deemed somehow unreasonable, it will remain in effect for a minimum of 1 week with no exceptions.
At the end of the ban period, you will be reduced back to 2 warnings and your posting rights will be returned to you.
Probation period in game may exceed the banning period of the forum account. The end of your probation period is entirely based on the Guild Masters understanding of your behaviour rather than a set time period unless otherwise specified.
Whilst a banning is in effect any attempt to circumvent said banning, such as creating multiple accounts on the forums or Alt characters in-game, will be considered a deliberate attempt to abuse our service, and a serious violation of the Guild Guidelines. This will result in a permanent ban, and an official report will be made to the Blizzard Game Masters in-game.
If you wish to discuss any warnings/bans, please contact Admin. Messages that are respectful and honest will be considered by Admin and a reply will be sent to you as soon as possible. This may not be immediate, so we appreciate your patience. Messages that are abusive will be ignored/deleted and you may receive further warnings or have your forum account banned.
Messages sent to Admin or Moderators using WoW’s chat system will likely be ignored during a ban. Harassment in game as a result of forum banning or otherwise will likely lead to further repercussions other than a simple temporary ban from the forum.
Offences deemed extremely serious may result in a permanent ban and removal from the Guild even if this is a first offense. This will be at the discretion of Admin.
If you receive 3 official warnings from Admin you will unfortunately be permanently banned from our Guild Community.
**
The Administration reserves the right to promote or demote members as necessary.
Demotions in game are separate from forum banning unless otherwise specified and will not be without a given reason. If you have a question or issue with the ranking position you have been handed in game please contact the Guild Master.
